FAQ

1. What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that rests on the principles of Quantum physics. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress; and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So, Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki works to find, assess and address blockages in the energy body. Reiki is system that delivers high levels of pure energy to facilitate healing on a mental, emotional and soul level. A treatment feels like a glowing radiance that flows through and around your body. Reiki treats the whole person including the physical body, emotions, mind and spirit--creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

3. What happens in a session?

The client simply lays fully clothed on the reiki table. Some prefer to listen to music, as it helps them ease into a deeper state of relaxation. The Reiki practitioner then begins to guide the client into a meditation to further ease them into relaxation. The treatment involves high levels of energy vibration being transmitted by the laying of hands over (or on) the various blockages of the clients' body and their natural energy field, by the Reiki Master.

4. What happens after?

After the session, the Reiki Master may decide to share their experience within the clients energy field and further ways to support the unfolding of the session once the client leaves. The client may feel tired after the session as the energy detox continues . It is advised that the time after the treatment be spent resting at home for a minimum of one hour.
